This window depicts the Annunciation of Mary. The angel standing to the right of Mary represents the Spirit of the Lord. Notice the swirls of mis around his feet. The Holy Spirit told Mary that she would give birth to the Son of God, and He would be called "Emmanuel," which means, "God With Us."
The birth of the Savior meant that God's power would transform people and their attitudes from impossibility to possibility, from doubt into hope, and from darkness into light.
"God sent the angel Gabriel to the village of Nazareth to a virgin engaged to be married to Joseph. Gabriel entered her room and said: 'Greetings! The Lord is with you! Do not be afraid, Mary; you have found favor with God... You shall give birth to a son, and you shall name him Jesus."
The Robinson Window was given by Mrs. A. Blaine Robinson and other members of the Robinson family in memory of David (1828-1895) and William Andrew (1830-1902).
